Juvenile Arthritis Patients can Make a Difference
by Christina S
According to the Arthritis Foundation, nearly 300,000 children across the United States are diagnosed with some form of arthritis. For most, this can cause chronic pain and fatigue and often requires frequent treatment.
For the past year, we’ve had the pleasure of working with Mariah’s Movers, an advocacy group—headed by the inspirational Mariah and her incredible family—that seeks to raise awareness for juvenile arthritis, Mariah empowers families to ask questions, work with their healthcare providers, and find ways to improve available therapies by sharing their experiences. One unique way she has accomplished this is by connecting them to our usability studies, where they have evaluated current and potential treatment options to make sure their voices are heard.
Juvenile arthritis is a chronic condition Mariah and hundreds of thousands of other children live with every day. We are inspired by their strength and determination to show that their spirit and will can’t be beat. You can join this army of advocates from anywhere by connecting to their Facebook page, where you'll find daily inspiration. If you also live with juvenile arthritis and would like to get involved in studies working on improving healthcare technology, give us a call! We’d love to hear from you.
